If you turn on the Enable Access from Other Applications option to restrict access by other applications to your to SQL Server databases, you might need to override that restriction for specific applications.
You use the Advanced SQL Server Settings tab to turn on the option and to open Enable Access from Other Applications, a separate window where you can select the applications that you allow to communicate with your SQL Server instance.
Select Restrict access to known applications, and then click [Edit Restrictions].
The Enable Access from Other Applications window appears, listing the applications known to your system.
On the list, select the applications that you allow to connect to your SQL Server instance.
Note: You can select only applications that include an application name in their database connection strings. You cannot allow applications that do not identify themselves properly to connect.
Click [OK].
