Windows 7 Professional, Windows 8.1 Professional, and Server 2008 R2 Standard "Sleep Mode" prevents computers from obtaining a license use

If a computer running the Windows 7 Professional, Windows 8.1, or Server 2008 R2 Standard operating system is used as a license server, when it goes into sleep mode, other computers on the network can’t obtain a license.

Set Sleep Mode on your license server computer to Never.

To set the Sleep Mode to “Never”:

  1. Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Power Options.
  2. Select Change when computer sleeps.
  3. From the Put computer to sleep list, select Never.
