Setting up sick time on the 5-2-1 Employees Compensation tab

Keep in mind the following:

Note: There is no general ledger accrual created by the entry on the 5-2-1 Employees window. A payroll calculation must be set up if you want an accrual for the general ledger and job cost purposes.

Accrued Sick box—If this is a flat amount per year, enter amount available to each employee at beginning of each year and do not use an accrual rate.

Sick Rate—Enter the rate at which sick time accrues according to your company policy.

Sick Method—Enter the method used to accrue sick time, per hour or per period.

Note: Regarding Sick Method: This accrual is on the employee records only. There is no general ledger accrual created by the entry on the 5-2-1 screen. A payroll calculation must be set up if you want an accrual for the general ledger and job cost purposes.
